Wallace Bay National Wildlife Area
Site Map
Wallace Bay National Wildlife Area encompasses 585 hectares of marine and freshwater wetlands, forested uplands, and fields. The NWA was established in 1980 to provide habitat for many species of marsh-dependent wildlife and is particularly important for migrant and nesting waterfowl!
Searching for Birds
The area is an important breeding and migratory staging habitat for many species of waterfowl, including Green-winged Teal, American Black Duck, Blue-winged Teal and Ring-necked Duck. We spotted Canada Geese, American Black Ducks, Mallards and Herring Gulls.
working Together
Over the years, many groups have come together to achieve bird conservation. In fact, did you know that the Migratory Bird Treaty (1916) signed between Canada and the United States was their first international agreement!
